GEORGIANA, ALABAMA - A south Alabama police chief was arrested Thursday on domestic violence charges, according to court filings.
Jeremy Lenard Peagler, 40, is charged with three counts of third-degree domestic violence - harassing communications. He serves as the police chief of Georgiana, in Butler County.
Court documents cite the victim as saying he began calling her late on the night of Aug. 8, threatening multiple times, “I was going to get what’s coming to me.”
The woman, who was in a relationship with the chief, further explained that, even after telling Peagler she was done with him and blocking his calls, “he has some way of still calling me from a blocked number or would call me from city hall.”
