BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA - A Birmingham man has been convicted in the sexual assault of two children.
A Jefferson County jury found 29-year-old Ronnie Lee Parker guilty on 12 counts of rape, rape of a child under 12, sodomy, sodomy of a child under 12, sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.

The investigation began in June 2020 when Birmingham police received reports of a who told her mother that she had been raped from the age of 7 to the age of 11.
The child was 14 years old when she disclosed the sexual assault to her mother. The victim is a cousin of Parker.
Jefferson County Deputy District Attorney Charissa Henrich said the victim would go over to Parker’s home and was supposed to be watched by Parker’s family members while the victim’s parents worked.
The victim testified that she was raped by Parker in the basement of the house as well as being subjected to being forced to perform acts of sodomy. She also testified to being touched on her vaginal area and other parts of her body.
