BEXAR COUNTY, TEXAS - A teenage girl was shot in the head while attempting to leave a party at an abandoned house in Texas.
Alianna Ujueta, 17, was with a crowd of other youngsters at an event in Bexar County described by police as a 'teen takeover'.
She was killed in the early hours of Sunday after officials said the party turned violent and shots were fired.
The suspected gunman fled the scene in a dark-colored pickup and remains at large, police said, as they urged anyone with information about the incident on Luckey Road to come forward.
Alianna's older sister Analiese Haben told KSAT: 'We’re missing her. It’s really hard. We're missing the piece that made us whole.'
Her family said she had graduated from high school early, had a job and was looking forward to getting her driver's license.
Her brother Kristopher encouraged anyone at the party to reach out to police, saying: 'Have some courage to do the right thing. We don’t want this to happen again.'
Alianna's other brother Kevin added: 'She would want to be remembered by the love that she had for her family.'
