MOBILE, ALABAMA — Walter Thames, Sr. was booked into Mobile Metro Jail Thursday morning on a murder charge. The 75-year-old is accused of shooting Patricia Wheat Odoms shortly after midnight on July 4th. She died nine days later.
"We aren't really sure what happened," said her daughter Alisha Jordan.
Jordan says her 65-year-old mother lived around the corner from the motel Thames stayed at. It's also where Mobile Police say she was shot shortly after midnight on July 4th.
