TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA - An arrest has been made in connection to a 2017 cold case murder that took place on McArthur Street in Tallahassee, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.
Akbar Beale, 46, of Tallahassee, was arrested Thursday afternoon by US Marshals and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Kaylyn Van De Wostine, recent court records show.
He appeared in court Friday around noon, where a judge denied bond.
His arrest comes nearly eight years later after Tallahassee Police launched a homicide investigation in November 2017 due to a body, identified as Van De Wostine’s, being found in the 2600 block of McArthur Street during the morning hours.
The investigator determined that she died from a single gunshot wound to the head, court documents revealed.
