MIAMI, FLORIDA - An influencer was arrested on Tuesday for falsifying financial records using them to buy three cars from dealerships in Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO).
Thalia Alonso Diaz has over 150,000 followers on Instagram.
She was arrested in Miami after being found engaging in a 'credit bust out' and purchasing three BMW cars, a total of $165,000, states the arrest report.
People involved in this crime typically falsify their employment or income to misrepresent their financial situation, causing automotive lenders to approve them for credit, where they would have declined them if their true financial condition was revealed, says the report.
The three BMW vehicles were valued at $35,997, $48,998, and $79,995. With a total value of $165,990.
