Jones arrested in Vaiden Mississippi after beating truck stop clerk and trying to gouge his eyes out over high gas prices - returned with a gun and robbed him

CARROLL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI - A man in Mississippi is accused of beating a truck stop clerk over the price of gas before robbing the establishment.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 35/55 Truck Stop on Highway 35 in Vaiden at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
When deputies arrived, they discovered the store clerk had been badly beaten.
Deputies said the clerk told them that a man, later identified as 40-year-old Charlie Terrell Jones, had come in and argued about the price of gas.
After the argument, Jones began to beat the clerk severely and even attempted to gouge out the clerk’s eyes, authorities said.
Carroll County deputies said Jones went to his vehicle but returned with a gun and demanded that the clerk give him the money in the register. The clerk complied, and the robber fled with the money.
