Portis arrested in Summerville South Carolina after shooting his wife in the face during an arguement

SUMMERVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA — One man was arrested Thursday after allegedly shooting his wife in the face amid a verbal dispute, according to a news release from the Summerville Police Department.
Billy Portis Jr. is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Summerville Police said.
The charges stem from a Thursday afternoon incident, where, around 3:15 p.m., officers with the Summerville Police Department were called to the Lakes of Summerville regarding a shooting.
