Memphis Tennessee teen charged with attempted murder after shooting a 2-year-old girl

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE - Memphis Police officers arrested a 16-year-old boy for a shooting that left a two-year-old girl injured.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) announced the arrest of the 16-year-old Wednesday, September 17, a little over three weeks after the shooting.
That shooting happened on August 24 on Semmes Street. The girl's father told officers that he arrived at the house on Semmes Street to find two women fighting. He said one of the women's brothers approached him and pushed him, leading the father to push back and the brother to pull out a gun and start shooting.
MPD charged the 16-year-old with attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and reckless endangerment.
