Former Atlanta Falcon Johnson pleads guilty in human trafficking and gang case for a 20 year sentence

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - The final two defendants were convicted and sentenced in a human trafficking and gang case, including a Former Atlanta Falcon, in Gwinnett County on Friday.
According to the Georgia Attorney General's Office, Former Falcon Eric Johnson, 49, who played in the NFL for six seasons and Bobby Downing, 43, both pleaded guilty in the case.
Johnson pleaded guilty to gang, racketeering and pimping charges. He was sentenced to 20 years, with the first 10 years to be served in prison. The remainder of his sentence will be served on strict probation.
Downing pleaded guilty to gang, racketeering, and human trafficking charges. The 43-year-old was sentenced to 30 years, with the first 12 years in prison and the rest of his sentence on strict probation. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
