MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA - A woman arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly shooting another woman in Miami Gardens is claiming she fired in self-defense.
According to an arrest report, officers responded to the area of Northwest 30th Avenue and Northwest 184th Street shortly before 10 a.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter gunshot detection alert.
A short time later, authorities learned a female had been shot and was found inside a Nissan Altima at Walt Frazer Park at 3201 Northwest 185th Street.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Investigators found two spent casings on the front porch of a home at 3001 Northwest 184th Street and detained a possible shooter, identified as 25-year-old Jahniya Imani Meda.
