MIAMI, FLORIDA — A Miami woman is facing a first-degree felony charge after police said she hit a 72-year-old woman in front of a police officer on Saturday evening.
The incident address was redacted from the Miami Police Department arrest report, but investigators said Marina Navarrete, 63, of Little Havana, was there “to retrieve stolen shoes” just before 8 p.m.
Police said an officer was sorting out the dispute when Navarrete asked the cop a question in Spanish: “How much would the bond be if I smacked her?”
It’s unclear whether she waited for an answer before police said she “proceeded to walk over to the victim” and hit the senior in the face, leading to her arrest on a charge of aggravated battery on a person 65 or older.
