Venezuelan illegal immigrant who posed as at 16-year-old child, enrolled in school, and bought gun with bogus ID faces 30 years in prison

TOLEDO, OHIO - A Venezuelan migrant is facing three decades in prison after pleading guilty to posing as a 16-year-old student to attend a high school.
Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, 24, admitted to using false documents and purchasing a firearm in Toledo, Ohio, on Monday, after he was caught pretending to be a teenager at Perrysburg High School.
Labrador-Sierra, who has been in the US since March 2020, had been a student there since January last year and even played on its junior varsity soccer team with freshmen.
He claimed to be homeless, and under federal law schools are required to accept unhoused students, regardless of documentation.
The migrant was on sports teams while living with a local couple who had previously taken in exchange students.
Anne Krause, whose son played with Labrador-Sierra on the soccer team, said it was 'like a movie' when she found out the 24-year-old was lying.
'It’s just a wild, crazy story,' she told WTOL 11 in May. 'My son said he remembered playing with him. I thought for sure he had to have been mistaken because, you know, it's already a wild story.'
The mother remembered looking at Labrador-Sierra and thinking he 'looked stronger than the other boys.'
