VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI — A St. Louis man who pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Vicksburg has been sentenced. Judge James Chaney sentenced Damon Jones to 20 years, with 10 years suspended and 10 years to serve.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Warren represented the state in the case. Court records show the robbery occurred at the Circle K convenience store on Clay Street in 2024. Surveillance video showed Jones displaying a gun before leaving the store with more than $100 in cash. He was arrested shortly afterward at a local hotel.

Jones was originally charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. In Mississippi, a person convicted of armed robbery can face up to life in prison.
