SYRACUSE, NEW YORK ― A 17-year-old charged Wednesday with being one of two shooters on electric bikes in a drive-by murder has been identified.
The teen is Drevan Felder, of Cicero, who was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to a criminal complaint filed in Syracuse City Court.
Around 8 p.m. on Sept. 16, Felder and another person were riding VEO motorized bikes on the 400 block of Bellevue Avenue when they fired at least 11 shots with 9mm handguns, killing Jakari Townsend, 26, Syracuse police said in court documents.
A third person, David Herndon, 33, led the two shooters to the scene of the murder in a car while the two others followed on VEO bikes, according to court documents.
Police were able to track Herndon to the shooting using a parole GPS bracelet and cameras, they said in the complaint.
