TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA - A Quincy man was found guilty of child sex crimes on Friday and will spend at least 50 years in prison, according to a press release from the state attorney’s office.
Eric Williams was charged with sexual battery on a child and two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, and a jury found him guilty on all counts after deliberating for less than two hours, per the state attorney.
According to court documents, Williams sexually assaulted his girlfriend’s teenage daughter five years ago.
“Despite the child having disclosed the abuse, her mother failed to protect her and continued to date the defendant,” per a state attorney’s office press release.
Weeks later, Williams also assaulted the victim’s cousin, who was over for a sleepover, the state attorney’s office said.
