AUGUSTA, GEORGIA - Youth violence has flared again in our community — this time with a suspected retaliation shooting just hours after a deadly incident at Augusta Mall.
One of the suspects is the 14-year-old brother of the mall murder victim.
Devon McClain, 17, was killed in the shooting at the mall, which authorities said stemmed from a fight but turned deadly when someone pulled out a gun.
Hours after the 1:15 p.m. shooting, there was another one at 10:49 p.m. in the 1300 block of Druid Park Avenue.
Although no one was hurt, bullets tore through the home and struck a vehicle parked outside.
Dispatcher: “911, what’s your emergency?”
Caller: “There is a shooting at my house again. I am on Druid Park Avenue. Please, my kids are in the house.”
The home was occupied by two adults, ages 43 and 39, along with seven children ranging from 2 to 14 years old.
Bullets pierced the front of the home and traveled through several interior walls, investigators said.
