Zyreon charged with first-degree assault after his Opelika Alabama shooting of a 16-year-old boy

OPELIKA, ALABAMA - A man accused of shooting a 16-year-old is now behind bars.
According to Opelika police, Zyreon James of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, turned himself in on Sunday. He is facing a first-degree assault charge.
The 20-year-old allegedly shot the teen on Aug. 30 in the 3500 block of Dale Avenue. Police say the shooting happened during an altercation involving multiple individuals.
