Hosni Charged with sexual battery, rape, and hijacking a vehicle in Columbus Georgia after raping a university student - had been released from jail a few hours earlier

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA - Columbus State University officials confirm a student was assaulted Friday in the city parking deck serving the RiverPark Campus.
According to CSU Police, the suspect fled the scene but was later apprehended.
University officials now confirm the suspect as 20-year-old Hosni Batebawai, who was arrested on charges of aggravated sexual battery, aggravated assault, rape and hijacking a motor vehicle in the second degree.
According to jail records, Batebawai was released from jail earlier that day on charges of public indecency, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, and terroristic threats and acts from October 27, 2024.
