MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE - An employee of a local mental healthcare provider is facing felony charges after Memphis police say he sent a patient to the hospital with severe burns.

The victim told police that this incident was just the latest of a series of attacks on him by 33-year-old Monoteus Brown, who MPD says works with Support Solutions of the Mid-South.

On September 17, police say they were called to a house on Rock Ridge Road South that serves as a Support Solutions outpatient home for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Upon arrival, the program manager shared with police what she was told by the victim, who is one of the program’s residents.

She alleged that Brown threw boiling water on his back, causing burns so severe that he spent a week in the hospital.
