GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - A man was arrested in connection to a Sept. 13 murder in Georgetown that left three people, including an 8-year-old child, dead, officials said.
Raul Franco Jr., 26, was charged with capital murder last Friday, according to city officials.
Franco was arrested on burglary and possession of paraphernalia on Sept. 14, according to Williamson County Jail records. City officials said Franco had been in custody in both Williamson and Bell counties on the charges, which they say were unrelated to the murders. Williamson County Jail records show Franco was released on Sept. 24 but is back in jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
Alonzo Hawkins, 34, his cousin Doneisha Brooks, 39 and her 8-year-old daughter Olivia Brooks were all found dead Sept. 13 with multiple gunshot wounds at Doneisha Brooks' apartment in the 300 block of Luther Drive in Georgetown. Investigators said Franco is the son of Brooks' roommate, who was not in the state at the time of the murders, and that the murders did not appear to be random. The investigation is ongoing, but officials said there is no indication of a threat to public safety.
