CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - A West Side man who lured four men to his home and robbed them while he was supposed to be confined by an ankle monitor for a pending machine gun possession case has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Christopher Anderson, 22, admitted in court that he used Instagram to set up meetings with the victims, who came to his home in the 400 block of South Laramie last winter.
On November 27, police said, Anderson’s first victim was a concealed carry license holder who lost his iPhone, a Coach bag and wallet, a Canada Goose coat, his firearms licenses, and $1,667 that Anderson transferred to himself through CashApp. Another victim, robbed on December 14, reported losing a Nike track jacket and pants, a Canada Goose skull cap, his iPhone, and $79 cash.
Detectives eventually linked four cases to Anderson after victims identified him in photo lineups and on social media. Investigators also reported finding incriminating messages on his phone.
At the time of the robberies, Anderson was already facing gun charges after Chicago police allegedly caught him stashing a handgun equipped with a machine gun switch and an extended magazine under the hood of a car in August 2024. Prosecutors asked Judge David Kelly to keep Anderson in custody pending trial on machine gun possession charges, but Kelly disagreed and released him on electronic monitoring. It didn’t take long for Anderson to figure out how to bring crime victims to his front door.
