Miami-Dade County Florida convicted murderer caught in Georgia after being released from the county jail by mistake

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA — A convicted killer who was mistakenly released from jail in Miami-Dade County has been captured.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, James Edward Daniels was located in Macon, Georgia on Thursday.
A $30,000 reward had been offered for tips that led to his capture.
Miami-Dade corrections officials blamed Daniels’ release on what they called a “procedural error.”
According to police, Daniels was part of a group that kidnapped three people in December of 2020.
Investigators said Daniels tied up and tortured the victims before throwing them into the back of a van and taking them to an abandoned house.
Only one of the three victims survived the ordeal.
