BESSEMER, ALABAMA - Bessemer man charged in the shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend claims he fired in self-defense.
Alfred Lee Colvin III, 32, is charged with capital murder in the slaying of 29-year-old Angelicca Amber Newton. The victim was about six weeks pregnant when she was killed.
