MIAMI, FLORIDA - A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to kidnap a girl as she was walking home from school in North Miami.
Matthew Duchatelier, 30, was arrested Friday on a charge of attempted kidnapping of a child under 13, records showed.
The alleged incident happened Thursday afternoon in the area of the 13500 block of Northeast 10th Avenue.
According to an arrest report, the girl was walking home from school when she noticed a silver car parked near a construction site.
She later saw the same car near her apartment complex and as she was entering the rear gate of the complex, Duchatelier grabbed her from behind and forced her into the car, the report said.
The girl was able to escape, and the suspect fled in the vehicle, the report said.
