White charged with murder after shooting Campbell in Springfield Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS - A Springfield man has been charged with first-degree murder after being accused of shooting and killing a man early Monday morning.
The Sangamon County State’s Attorney charged 57-year-old Rod White with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of a weapon by a repeat felony offender on Oct. 7. Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon identified the man who was shot and killed as 54-year-old Sean Campbell.

Police responded to a residence in the area of 12th and Kansas Streets around 5:45 a.m. on Oct. 6 for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male, later identified as Campbell, with a gunshot wound.
