RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA - A transgender woman was arrested over the weekend and charged with assaulting a woman at a Raleigh bar last month.
The alleged victim said the suspect, whose legal name is Geoffrey Jamal Lee, grabbed her from behind several times at a Halcyon, a bar on West Jones Street in the Glenwood South district, on June 11.
The woman said she stopped at the bar to seek help after her friend was hurt falling off a scooter. Within a few seconds, she said, she felt someone grab her from behind.
