FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA - A New York woman was accused of flying to Florida and murdering her ex-boyfriend's lover in a jealous rage after she blocked her on social media.
Sakiyna Thompson, 31, hasn't denied killing Kayla Hodgson, but said she acted in self-defense.
Thompson is on trial for a first-degree murder charge and took the stand for the second time Monday in Fort Lauderdale, according to NBC6.
Prosecutors accused Thompson of being 'jealous and insecure' of Hodgson when she began dating her ex.
Thompson messaged Hodgson on Instagram and grew angry when she ignored the message.
In July 2022, Thompson said she arrived at then 23-year-old Hodgson's apartment to talk about the relationship. She hoped she could convince the victim to break up with her ex.
