JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - A woman in Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested this week after leaving her car parked and unattended in an unauthorized zone. A terrifying video going viral on social media shows the woman being violently thrown to the ground by a police officer.
The arrest resulted in the first apprehension made under Florida’s new “Halo Law,” which requires individuals to move 25 feet away from first responders while they are performing their duties.
The woman, Erika McGriff, a 39-year-old mother, was arrested on Tuesday outside of IDEA Bassett Charter School after she allegedly left her car parked and running in an intersection while she was picking up her child.
