Josiah arrested after shooting his victim in a car in Freeport Illinois

FREEPORT, ILLINOIS - An investigation into a Freeport shooting has led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Elgin man as the suspect in the crime.
According to Freeport Police, on Friday, October 17th, officers responded to a gunshot detection system alert in the area of Walnut Avenue and Stephenson Street around 5:36 p.m.
The 33-year-old male victim had been inside a car at the time of the shooting, and suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.
Surveillance video and eyewitness accounts led police to identify Josiah Franklin as the suspect. A K-9 officer led police to an apartment in the 100 block of S. Cherry Avenue, where Franklin was taken into custody.
