Demetrius charged with Prospect Virginia murder after a white woman's body was found in High Bridge Trail State Park

LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA - A man from Lynchburg has been charged in connection with a body found in a state park.
The Virginia State Police reports 28-year-old Demetrius M. Brown of Lynchburg has been charged with second-degree murder in the case.
On Aug. 23, officers from multiple agencies, including VSP, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a call about a suspicious death in the Prospect area of High Bridge Trail State Park.
Around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 23, two bicyclists reported finding the remains of a deceased white woman.
The remains were later identified as those of 23-year-old Samantha Okinyi of Prospect.
Brown was arrested without incident.
