Alfred charged after murdering his pregnant girlfriend in Lipscomb Alabama

LIPSCOMB, ALABAMA - Lipscomb authorities have a man in custody after a pregnant woman was shot and killed during a domestic incident.
The shooting happened August 21 on 5th Street. The victim, Angelicca Newton, was 29 and lived in Center Point. Authorities say she was 10 to 12 weeks pregnant.
Alfred Lee Colvin III, 32, of Bessemer is charged with capital murder and is being held in the Lipscomb City Jail. He will eventually be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he will be held without bond.
Authorities say Newton and Colvin were in a relationship.
