Texas Latina firebrand desperate for attention torches Quran in stunt to 'end Islam'

TEXAS - A Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives is gaining attention for her latest social media stunt.
Valentina Gomez, running in the GOP primary for Texas' 31st congressional District posted a video on X Monday of her burning the Quran with a flamethrower.
'America is a Christian nation, so those terrorist Muslims can *** to any of the 57 Muslim nations. There is only one true God, and that is the God of Israel,' she said in the video.
This isn't the first time Gomez has tried to make a national splash by courting controversy.
Earlier this year, Gomez barged on stage during a Muslim event at the Texas Capitol, and used the occasion to decry Islam as the 'religion of rape, incest, and pedophilia, where they bow down to a stupid rock, and a false prophet.'
Despite Gomez invoking Trump and painting herself as a MAGA candidate, he has not endorsed her.
Per Federal Election Commission records, Gomez has raised just over $7,000 for her race as of June 30th.
Gomez is running in the primary against GOP incumbent John R. Carter who has been office since 2003. Carter won his last election with nearly 65 percent of the vote. Gomez is one of nine candidates challenging Carter in the primary and is considered a long-shot.
