NORTH CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - A North Charleston man was arrested on Sunday and charged with hindering an investigation into a stabbing at a North Charleston event center.

Terrance Wilson, 57, of North Charleston, is facing multiple charges, according to North Charleston Police.

North Charleston Police officers responded at 3:36 a.m. to an area hospital for a report of a stabbing victim. The woman told officers that she was stabbed with a small keychain knife.

Officers arrived at the Klux Event Center on Dorchester Road to investigate based on information gathered.

An officer then discovered the crime scene in the event center’s women’s bathroom and saw what appeared to be a member of the center’s cleaning crew cleaning the bathroom. The crew member was later identified as Wilson.

Officers noticed that the building was filled with smoke and smelled of marijuana. Wilson was advised to stop cleaning by officers to preserve evidence, but refused.

Assisting officers arrived at the center and handcuffed Wilson. An officer then began to search Wilson and felt what was later found to be a large bag of pills consistent with illegal narcotics.

Officers found a large green bag in Wilson’s pocket with a clear bag containing a pink powder weighing 1.40 grams inside. The pink powder tested presumptive positive for fentanyl. Officers found another clear bag with pink pills weighing 5.1 grams, which also tested presumptive positive for fentanyl. A large bag was also found containing 48.9 grams of multicolored pills that tested presumptive positive for meth.

Wilson stated that he got the green bag off the floor at the event center.
