WAKE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA - Deputies are sharing more about the arrest of a man for a murder in February in Onslow County.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office says that Christopher Duncan, 35, was arrested by U.S. marshals this morning in Knightdale and charged with an open count of murder.
It was back on February 16th around 11:30 p.m. that deputies responded to Wing Zone at 1478 Burgaw Highway, after a 911 call came in of a man who had been shot.
First responders found Matthew D’Antonio, 41, of Spring Hope, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
D’Antonio was taken to Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune where he died a short time later.
Deputies say video surveillance helped identify a suspect. They say Duncan was seen with D’Antonio shortly before deputies arrived on scene.
After an extensive investigation, the sheriff’s office says a warrant for Duncan’s arrest was issued on August 18th.
Duncan is being held in the Onslow County Detention Center without bond and has a first court appearance tomorrow.
The investigation remains open.
Warrants say Duncan is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. It says the weapon was a Delton AR-15.
