Memphis: Man arrested for murdering his former girlfriend Lasheka at a market

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE - A murder suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting at a North Memphis market in March, according to the U.S. Marshals.
Jeffery White, 39, has been charged with First-Degree Murder.
On Mar. 26, around 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a shooting outside of the North Memphis Market in the 1500 block of Vollintine Avenue.
The victim, Lasheka Johnson, was transported to Regional One Medical Center.
The U.S. Marshals said the Memphis Police officers identified Johnson’s former boyfriend, Jeffery White as the suspect.
According to reports, after Johnson was released and readmitted, she died on July 13 from the complications of the gunshot wound.
The agency said the following day, police had a warrant for White, who was charged with First-Degree Murder and Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
On Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force Apprehension Team tracked White at a residence in the 1000 block of McNeil Street in North Memphis.
The U.S. Marshals said when White refused arrest, deputy marshals forced the door open and took White into custody.
