Laron arrested after murdering his 5-year-old son in Louisville Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - A man is charged with murder after a 5-year-old died in the Park DuValle neighborhood on Tuesday.
LMPD responded to the 2900 block of Conestoga Avenue around 3:06 p.m. Tuesday about a 5-year-old who had suffered traumatic injuries due to a fall.
The boy was taken to Norton Children's Hospital, where he died Wednesday.
On Friday, police said they arrested 24-year-old Laron Gardner Jr. in connection to the boy's death. He is charged with murder (domestic violence), first-degree criminal abuse, and fourth-degree assault (child abuse).

According to an arrest slip, EMS personnel who responded to the scene on Tuesday said the boy's injuries were not consistent with falling.
The arrest slip says a forensic medical examination was conducted, finding the boy had "numerous severe injuries to multiple areas of his body which caused his death."
Police then determined the injuries were consistent with the boy having been assaulted.
According to the arrest slip, Gardner, who is the boy's father, was alone with him and his sister at the time of the incident. Gardner was allegedly assaulting the boy before he pushed him down the stairs.
The boy's sister told police Gardner also kicked her in the chest while she was lying on the floor.
