Teen arrested after accidentally murdering Jayvion'tae in Evansville Indiana

EVANSVILLE, INDIANA - Evansville Police Department say a teenager is dead after a shooting Thursday near downtown.
Friday, the coroner told us he’s 14-year-old Jayvion’tae Cox.
The call came in around 3:45 p.m. Thursday for a “man” who was shot in the head in the 800 block of East Cherry Street.
They say through the investigation it was learned the victim was shot accidentally by another juvenile, who thought the gun was unloaded.
That juvenile was arrested for reckless homicide and dangerous possession of a firearm. He was taken into custody on scene.
Several other juveniles were taken in for questioning.
Officers waited on scene until they could get a warrant for the house.
They say AMR, Evansville Fire, and Evansville Police were called.
Police told us just after 4:30 p.m. the victim who was shot did not survive.
