Cordericus is second arrested after murders of Dekeith and Malik in two locations in Montgomery Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A second suspect has been charged in connection to a shootout in Montgomery that left two men dead in July, according to court documents.
Cordericus Thomas, 19, is charged with murder and capital murder in the deaths of 26-year-old Dekeith Whatley and 27-year-old Malik Benson.
Benson and Whatley were shot and killed on Saturday, July 12, at two separate locations less than a half-mile from each other.

Both men were found with multiple gunshot wounds, court records say. Whatley was found inside of his vehicle at Real Cutz barbershop on Upper
Wetumpka Road. Benson was found on North California Street.
Court documents say witnesses told police that “two group[s] of guys” began shooting at each other while at the barbershop.
