Jacobi charged with a Shreveport Louisiana murder after killing Kalisia during a domestic abuse incident

SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA - Police are investigating the death of a woman who's suspected of being the victim of a brutal domestic abuse homicide.
About 7:30 a.m. officers responded to a call at a house at 3127 DeSoto Street, where Kalisia Franklin, 27, was found in a back room. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead just after 1 p.m.
Detectives noted the room showed extensive signs of a struggle, indicating a violent altercation had taken place.
Detectives identified Jacobi Hughes, the victim’s boyfriend, as a suspect. He's been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, child endangerment and domestic abuse battery.
Franklin's death is the 26th homicide in the city this year.
