SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA - A gang of masked robbers unleashed a shocking, coordinated smash-and-grab attack on Kim Hung Jewelry in East San Jose, California on Friday afternoon.
The group slammed a stolen SUV in reverse straight through the shop's glass storefront in broad daylight before storming in with hammers and axes to smash up display cases containing gold and jewelry.
The brazen attack was caught in jaw-dropping surveillance footage and shows the moment the vehicle crashes through the front of the family-run business.
As the dust settles, nearly a dozen robbers wearing dark hoodies and face coverings stormed into the store swinging tools into the glass cases, yanking gold and jewels with ruthless efficiency.
In one horrifying frame of the video, the 88-year-old owner who could only look on in horror was shoved violently to the ground by one of the assailants. The criminals simply stepped over him as they continued their rampage.
According to a post on X, the victim is the uncle of a local resident.
'My friend's 88-year-old uncle's San Jose Jewelry Store was robbed on Fri 9/5 at 2 p.m.,' the post reads. 'They ran a truck through the store and then pushed him down. He was injured by broken glass and then had a stroke.'
Police have not confirmed the extent of the man's injuries, saying only that they 'do not have any details to provide at this time'.
