Dexter and a teen relative charged with murder after shooting woman in Wake Forest North Carolina

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA - A Wake County judge denied bond Wednesday for teenage murder suspect Dexter Mills, Jr. in the shooting death of Ericka Lucas, a former Rolesville High School principal and wife of Wake Forest High School football coach Reggie Lucas.
The 18-year-old’s family sat through his first court appearance, then left the courtroom visibly frustrated.
“It’s a back story to be told,” said Dasia Gill, the suspect’s aunt.
While leaving court, Gill and other relatives told CBS 17 that there were multiple shooters on East Nelson Avenue in Wake Forest, where police say Ericka Ruffin Lucas, 56, was shot after 6 p.m. on Aug. 29.
Wake Forest police say Lucas was not the intended target. According to the Town of Wake Forest, she died Sept. 9.
