Gladys charged with attacking an infant at a North Charleston South Carolina "Christian" daycare

NORTH CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - A day care employee is now under arrest for allegedly abusing a baby over the summer at a Christian preschool.
Gladys Rampersant, 75, of North Charleston, is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.
These charges stem from a reported July incident that occurred at Sweetgrass Christian Academy on Remount Road.
Detectives say Rampersant was engaging with a baby, less than a year old, yanking them up by the arms and shaking the infant hard before “slamming” them into a crib.
Reports say Rampersant went back to the baby, pulling them out of a crib and hitting them over the head several times.
Police say Rampersant was arrested for this “disturbing” crime Thursday and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Jail records show she was released about five hours after she was booked after posting a $15,000 bond.
Police say their investigation into this matter is ongoing.
Sweetgrass Christian Academy, which opened July 26 this year, appears to have been permanently closed.
