SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS — Springfield Police detectives arrested Natasha P. Blackwell, 44, on September 13, at approximately 10:05 a.m. Blackwell, a Springfield resident, faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery.
She is currently held in the Sangamon County Jail as she awaits formal charges from the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The arrest follows the death of a 48-year-old Springfield man, who was transported by EMS to HSHS St. John’s Hospital from the 400 block of North 4th Street early Saturday morning. The man sustained sharp force injuries and was pronounced dead by emergency room staff at 5:10 a.m., shortly after his arrival, according to Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon.
