Tavarious arrested for six counts of attempted murder after shooting two people in Murfreesboro Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE — Police have arrested the man accused of opening fire during a weekend reunion at Old Fort Park that left two people injured.
Tavarious Chambers is charged with six counts of attempted first-degree murder and tampering with evidence after detectives say he opened fire at a reunion on Saturday, September 13th, striking two people.
According to the preliminary investigation, the reunion event was ending when Chambers arrived at the park pavilion dressed in black and wearing a ski mask. Police say he fired multiple shots in the direction of four adults and two small children. Two people were struck by gunfire. One of the victims fired back in self-defense.
Detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit located Chambers shortly after the shooting and arrested him at an apartment on Hazelwood Drive.
