BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT - A former Bridgeport police sergeant fired in June amid a sexual misconduct investigation related to conduct in his role as an instructor at the police academy was arrested last week in Trumbull, police say.
Marlon Campo, 48, a Trumbull resident, was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree stalking, second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment, and third-degree assault after an incident Aug. 22.
The charges are misdemeanors, except for first-degree unlawful restraint, which is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in jail.
Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein confirmed in an email that Campo had been arrested but said details of the incident could not yet be shared "due to the sensitivity and confidentiality concerns surrounding the victim and the alleged charges."
