ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS - A 64-year-old Rockford man is accused of grabbing a 12-year-old girl and forcing her into his vehicle, police say.
Gary Brown is charged with aggravated kidnapping and failure to register.
Rockford police say they were notified Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16, of a reported kidnapping of a girl near Kishwaukee Street and Lorden Court.
Investigators say the girl was walking when Brown reportedly grabbed her and forced her into his vehicle. Officers say witnesses told police the girl escaped from the vehicle when it stopped near 10th Street.
