BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – The Birmingham Police Department announced the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect in connection with an August shooting.
According to police, Joshua Lewis Jr. was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, by the department’s Crime Reduction Team. Lewis is charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Unoccupied Vehicle.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Investigators identified Lewis as a suspect following the incident, which led to his arrest.
