ELMORE COUNTY, ALABAMA - A jury in Elmore County has convicted a man in the 2018 death of his son, according to District Attorney CJ Robinson.
Kristopher Matthews, 40, was found guilty of aggravated child abuse. DA Robinson said the jury found that Matthews caused the death of his 2-month-old son, Karson Matthews.
Karson was born in July 2018, weighing 6 pounds and 2 ounces. In September of that year, he was taken to Elmore Community Hospital weighing substantially less.
