Kentucky Murder trial postponed for crazed woman who left her dead son in suitcase in Indiana
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - The trial for the mother accused of killing her son and leaving his body in a suitcase was postponed until next year.
Dejuane Anderson's murder trial was originally scheduled for October 2025 but it's been moved to Jan. 6, 2025.
A mushroom hunter found 5-year-old Cairo Jordan's body stuffed in the suitcase in rural Washington County, Indiana, in 2022.
After two years on the run, Anderson was arrested on March 15, 2024, in California. During a subsequent court appearance, she claimed her name was "Princess" and the U.S. Space Force was following her.
"I am Princess Khalifia Hatan, representing the entity Dejaune Anderson," she said during a court appearance in April 2024.
Anderson was committed to a psychiatric facility in August 2024 and eventually found fit to stand trial.
Another woman charged in Cairo's murder — Dawn Coleman, of Shreveport, Louisiana — pleaded guilty to aiding, inducing or causing murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and obstruction of justice. She was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with five years suspended to probation.
